This is a new site, to improve it, please
Wales as a country has excellent recycling rates and we are lucky that a lot of our waste can be recycled through our kerbside recycling, managed by (Wastesavers). However, there is still a lot of waste that cannot be recycled kerbside and ultimately ends up being incinerated.
We therefore work with CVP plastics to offer community recycling points for stretchy plastics. CVP use this stretchy plastic to make construction materials.
The drop off points for stretchy plastic in Caerleon are;
The Ffwrwm
11 the Brades
Stretchy plastic is basically anything that stretches! So, things like bread bags, bags from deliveries, carrier bags etc. can be put into these bins. Please make sure that only stretchy plastic is put in these bins and please remove all labels.
We are working with Newport City Council to offer collection points for additional materials which cannot be recycled through household waste. Through this partnership we have set up a recycling point for Pringles tubes in Caerleon Town Hall.
The Wastesavers website has a comprehensive list of different materials and how to recycle them; http://wastesavers.co.uk/at-home/z-recycling-newport/
Sero Zero Waste at Tredegar House have collection points for various items and Zero Waste Torfaen have some useful information on their website; https://zerowastetorfaen.co.uk/recycling and also run a regular amnesty so follow them on facebook for more information.
Thanks to everyone who continues to use the stretchy plastics collection point..this is pretty impressive..Will go to make building membrane.
